You Young widely considered a promising figure skater who may succeed "Figure Queen" Kim Yu-na, has won her first title in an international competition. You ranked first by winning 88.03 points in women’s single free skating in ISU Cup of Tyrol’s ‘Advanced Novice’ category, which took place in Innsbruck, Austria on Thursday. The 11-year-old skater gained 134.75 overall including 46.72 points from the short program held the previous day, to rank atop in women’s single competition in the championship. She was 32.32 points ahead of second-ranked Marina Piredda (Italy, 102.43 points).

Meanwhile, an opportunity has been offered for Korea to field skaters in all figure skating categories at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in 2018. “IOC and ISU have announced criteria for qualifications to participate in figure skating competitions at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics," the Korea Skating Union said on Friday. "The international organizations will provide extra quota of berths to the host country, if and when specific conditions are met such as minimum technical scores.”
