Obama Declares Ten Straight Wins over Clinton

U.S. Senator Barack Obama has gained more ground over his rival, Hillary Clinton, in the battle to win the Democratic Party nomination in the run for U.S. presidency.

The senator from Illinois won the party primary in Wisconsin and the caucus in Hawaii on Tuesday, claming his tenth straight win over Clinton.

Obama’s ten consecutive victories since “Super Tuesday” on Feb. 5 have put him in the lead over the New York senator.

In Wisconsin, Obama won 58 percent of the vote over Clinton’s 41 percent. Meanwhile, in the caucus in Hawaii, where the Illinois senator was born, he took 77 percent, overwhelmingly beating Clinton who won just 23 percent of the vote.

CNN reported that Obama currently leads having secured 1,301 delegates, including pledged and super delegates, while Clinton has 1,239 delegates to date.

On the Republican side, Senator John McCain was the declared winner in primaries in Wisconsin and Washington state, boosting his front-runner status in Republican Party’s contest.

The senator from Arizona, who is virtually confirmed as the Republican nominee, continued his consecutive winnings over former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
