In 10 days, the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships will be held in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. Korean skater Kim Yu-na, 18, along with Japanese competitors Mao Asada, 18, and Miki Ando, 21, will participate in the event.

Tickets were sold beginning Jan. 23, but are sold out for the women’s singles event and the gala exhibition where Kim will compete. Other competitions still have more than a 50 percent reserved rate.

The Goyang ice rink is not intended for figure skating, so it may be inconvenient to watch the event. Here are some tips for good and bad seats, and the best way to enjoy the competition according to seating.

▽ The Best and Worst Seats

The seats are divided into five categories: R, A, B, VIP seats, and reporters’ seats. There are no major problems in any of the seats, but there are a few seats that have hindered viewing.

People who sit in the first row on the first and second floor have to endure inconveniences because iron fences may block viewing. Sections A-F on the first floor fall into R, but A and F are far away from the center of the stadium.

Section F on the second floor belongs to B, but as there is no big difference compared with A and E, section F consists of relatively good seats.

Sections L and K on the first floor belong to A but they are as good as R and are less likely to be crowded because they share the same floor as VIPs and reporters.

▽ Cushion is Necessary, Blanket is an Option

A cushion is necessary to have a better view. Watching the event by the nearby stairs is recommended for those who sit in seats No.1-6 of section B and D on the second floor.

The rink keeps the temperature between 18-20 degrees Celsius, so it is not cold. If children are not accompanied, blankets are not necessary.
