Tracking Down Illegal Money Of Park

As the illegal weapon dealer Kim Young-wan who laundered Hyundai`s secret money of 15 billion won to send it to the former Culture and Tourism minister Park Ji-won has been doubted as laundering another 15 billion won in addition, many people are paying attention to how those 30 billion won worth of secret money was collected and used.

A special prosecution office regarding the incidence said on July 7th, “Our result of tracking down related accounts showed that Kim laundered some 30 billion won worth of dirty money. However, it is hard to determine the source or usage of the money at this stage”.

The Supreme Public Prosecutor`s Office issued a warrant to track down his accounts as well as his family members`. The prosecution will also track down accounts of the former minister Park and his followers to check out whether the Hyundai`s secret money was transferred to Park.

The prosecution also discovered that Kim received some 10 billion won from S and D construction companies around the general election in April, 2000 to launder and hand the money to the political circle.

An official from the prosecution said, “It is still unknown that whether the money is the one that we figured out the last time. If the track-down continues, the amount of secret money laundered by Kim might be increasing further.”

The prosecution placed an order for involved figures not to escape to overseas to bring them to court.
