At 23rd, Japanese newspaper, Yomiuri carried highly explosive editorial about the dispute of the name of ‘East Sea’ with comment to keep the name of “Japan Sea’ and pressed Japanese government to respond actively.

With the title ‘ the government should keep history firmly’ talked “IHO accepted Korean insistence that requires to change the name ‘Japan Sea’ to ‘East Sea’” and added, “ we can’t accept Korean insistence, but Japanese government should be responsible for not having respond firmly.”

The editorial added, “ the name of ‘Japan Sea’ has reasonable base, and we need to protest to IHO strongly and insist to Korea our right.”

Previously, in the editorial at 15th, the newspaper insisted that the self-torment view of history insisted by some newspapers is a behavior to mislead and concoct history. Some newspaper has already insisted that previous Japanese invading war was for invasion to Western dominion, and labor mobilization system in the war was for mobilizing comfort women.

Against the editorial, Korean government Information Agency sent protest letter to the newspapers that commented, “Yomiuri Newspapers misleads Japan’s invasion to Asian countries. Additionally it also rationalizes and beautifies the issue of military comfort women.”
