It may not be an exaggeration to say that fairy tales are written not for children but for grown-ups just as "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Readers of any times relate to the story of the little prince learning a lesson on Earth and leaving for his home planet. One of the most impressive episodes unfolds around the little prince and a fox.

The little prince sobs on the grass for the dismay and betrayal because of many beautiful flowers on Earth. He had thought that the rose that he loves on his planet is the only that exists. He also thought of himself as well-off because he possesses the only rose in the world, which has turned out to be wrong. A passing fox finds the little prince and advises him to think differently, saying that what really matters is seen not by a naked eye but by the eye in the heart.

It means that the little prince and the fox can mean everything to each other by getting to know even if they do not find anything special in each other at first. The novel describes the little prince and the fox getting closer and feeling hurt when they have to say goodbye. It is the time that has made their relationship so special. The fox then tells him that it is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important. It has made the prince give a lesson that the rose on his home planet is a unique flower and what really matters is unseen. Then, he returns to his planet.

The little prince and grown-ups have a lot in common. We sometimes forget the fact that people around us are the only special one in our life that we should protect and love, and leave them emotionally scarred without our knowing. Thus, it is a lesson from Saint-Exupéry’s fairy tale that we should be as wise as the little prince is when he returns home.
