Japanese anime characters, such as “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon” with yellow-colored hair in short skirt of school uniform, a warrior with a long sword from the Middle Age and a noble lady from the Middle Age in Europe, physically gathered at the “Otaku Summit 2015” in Chiba Prefecture, Japan for two days from Saturday. Otaku refers to obsessive lovers for a certain area.

According to local media such as the Chiba Daily, the event was organized by “Comic Market,” which holds a half-yearly manga festival with amateur cartoonists in Tokyo. Starting its first festival in 1975, this year marks the 40th anniversary. Only Japanese people and groups had participated at the event, but this year, 46 groups from 18 different countries joined the festival.

Participants were dressed as anime characters for cosplay (with costumes and fashion accessories) to represent a specific character, wandering around the venue and taking photos with visitors. Sales booths where visitors can buy manga and anime characters were in place and symposiums on the subject of animation took place as well.
