Around 11:04 a.m. Thursday, the South Jeolla Provincial Police Agency received a report that a woman was running naked on a pedestrian road near a shopping mall in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province. A policewoman who was dispatched to the scene found that a naked woman in her 20s was wandering around in public. The police officer purchased underwear for her and took her to her family. Reportedly, the family took her to a mental hospital later.

The street where the woman was wandering about for around 10 minutes was a downtown area with a six-lane road and many passers-by. However, there were only four reports calling for help. It seems that no citizen spared time to save her from disgrace by covering her with clothes, according to the police.

Some people took video of her with their mobile phones from across the street or in their cars. Some of them even went as far as to follow to capture a video of the naked woman. Later, her photos and videos were spread on the Internet and via mobile phones. The police estimate that there are at least 10 photos and videos of her being naked. The police launched an official investigation into the case after her family requested that those who took the photos and videos and spread them online be punished.

The police asked Internet portal sites and social networking sites to immediately delete her photos or videos as soon as they are found. “Those who took the photos or video or who spread them are all subject to punishment,” a police officer said.
