A Muslim Sunday prepares food for Iftar at an Islamic mosque in Karachi, Pakistan, with the start of the Islamic fasting holiday Ramadan, over which Muslims cannot drink or eat anything throughout the day. Iftar is a dinner in which a family gathers together after sunset and eats as much as they want. Muslims are banned from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset over Ramadan, as well as refraining from smoking or having sex.
