Ruling Grand National Party member, Chung Byoung-gug, the chairman of the party`s special committee for media industry development, introduces a bill that prohibits Internet portal sites from modifying news content they receive from news media and a fine of up to 10 million won (7,300 U.S. dollars) for a violation. An offender can also face two years in prison or up to a fine of 10 million won if found guilty of “cyber contempt.”
