Golfer Shin Ji-yae was confident and never lost her composure Sunday in an interview with NBC right after winning the ADT Championship.

Speaking with a smile about the million dollars in prize money she won, Shin said, "I need to find a house to live in while staying in the U.S. and the prize money will be helpful."

Though she told a news conference that she tries to laugh when nervous, she suffered a personal tragedy as a child. In 2003, she lost her mother in a car accident that left her two siblings severely injured. She had to spend almost a year caring for them in the hospital.

Shin said the incident strengthened her determination in golf and also led her to perform charity work. She said she will donate part of the prize money to the poor.

A devout Christian, she said she always remembers the phrase in the Bible, "The Lord your God, hold your right hand and say to you, `Don`t be afraid; I will help you.`"

Shin added she was deeply touched by the book "Oprah Winfrey: I Don`t Believe in Failure" written by Robin Weston.

Shin has played in 35 competitions this year, saying, "My goal next year is to become LPGA Rookie of the Year and then move on to becoming the women`s world champion."
