On the IOU that Lee Han-jeong, who was given a proportional seat with the Creative Korea Party in the National Assembly, claims to have signed for 590 million won that he loaned to the party. The Suwon District Prosecutors` Office secured in a testimony from a related official, that Lee wrote it in mid-April after the launch of the prosecution’s investigation, according to sources on Wednesday.

Lee also recently confessed the details of the transaction to the prosecution, according to sources. “I transferred 590 million won to the party around March 26, the day my election was confirmed, and wrote the IOU in mid-April after the launch of the prosecution’s investigation,” Lee said.

Prosecutors believe that Lee gave the money to the party in return for a parliamentary seat, given that he wrote the promissory note after the prosecution’s investigation began.

The prosecution is also planning to summon party leader Moon Kook-hyun to question him over his possible involvement in the scandal.

Meanwhile, the Seoul District Prosecutors` Office Wednesday summoned the wife of Kim Noh-sik, who secured a proportional representation seat with the Pro-Park Alliance, to question why 1.5 billion won was given to the party and whether additional financial contributions were made to the party.

The prosecution has also decided to seek an arrest warrant against Kim Soon-ae, the mother of Yang Jeong-rye who also received a proportional representation seat with the Pro-Park Alliance, on charges of breaching election laws.
