[NBA] Stoudemire’s 33 Helps Suns Tie for Division Lead

The Phoenix Suns yesterday moved into a tie for first place in the NBA Western Conference`s Pacific Division, thanks to 33 points and 15 rebounds from Amare Stoudemire.

The Suns beat the New Jersey Nets, 110-104, in East Rutherford, New Jersey. With a record of 49-24, Phoenix tied the Los Angeles Lakers for first place in the division.

Suns center Shaquille O`Neal (17 points, seven rebounds) played brilliantly under the basket and point guard Steve Nash (10 points, 11 assists) was all over the place. Five Nets scored in double digits, led by Vince Carter with 32 points, but New Jersey came up short.

The Detroit Pistons won their second straight game by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers, 85-71. Cleveland suffered its third straight loss, as star LeBron James was held to just 13 points.

The Chicago Bulls had seven players scoring in double digits in a 114-111 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
