Palestinian Enter Egypt for Necessities

Palestinians have flocked into Egypt, crossing the Gaza-Egypt border fence in Rafah Saturday. Israel sealed the Gaza Strip after the Islamic movement Hamas won the Palestinian elections in January 2006, beating Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his ruling Fatah Party. When Palestinian residents suffered from a lack of daily necessities, Hamas broke open the border fence in Rafah with bombs Wednesday. Most Palestinians who got their necessities returned to Gaza. Egyptian authorities allowed them to enter to prevent bloodshed.
