Richard Armitage, former U.S Deputy Secretary of State, said on June 10 that the U.S. should offer North Korea a comprehensive incentive to push forward with the stalled talks on the North’s nuclear program similar to the offer of direct talks with Iran.

Armitage appreciated the U.S. policy shift for Iran in an interview with Kyodo News, pointing out, “If we don’t talk with the North in a similar fashion, I think we look silly.”
