Forget the New Year Holidays; Towards a Mountain Grand Slam

The Mountain Grand Slam, which consists of reaching 14 Himalayan summits, the highest peaks in all seven continents and both Poles, is a record that nobody has realized yet. Mountaineer Park Young-seok (42) and his fellow North Pole expedition members are climbing Mt. Halla on February 5. The expedition started from Gwaneum Temple on a sleigh, and the party arrived at Yongjin-gak 10 hours later, 1,500 meters above sea level. The expedition will train on Mt. Halla until February 8, after which they will leave for Canada on February 24 and move on to the North Pole on March 5. They are expected to reach the North Pole on April 23.
