Jump High: Track and Field Starts

Track and fields games opened in the Athens Main Olympic Stadium. On August 20, female athletes are jumping hurdles in the 2004 Athens Olympic women’s heptathlon- 100-meter hurdles, preliminary round. Michelle Perry of the U.S.A. won first place with a mark of 12.74 seconds, and Tiffany Lott Hogan (U.S.A. Pictured Right) was second in 13.13 seconds. Track and field offers 46 gold medals, more than any other event in the Olympics.
