Prosecutor General Song Kwang-soo stated yesterday, “Cases violating the election law will be investigated in a more prompt fashion than other cases and carried out in accordance with only laws and principles.”

Song also delivered a special order to local prosecutor offices stressing that, “Suspected cases of illegal distribution of money or goods should be thoroughly investigated by using all possible venues, including tracing banks accounts and issuing a seizure and search warrant.”

Song ordered, “Measures should be established to prevent heavy lawbreakers --such as the “election brokers” prosecuted during the last general election campaign-- from reemerging in any future elections.”

Song also asked the court to make an effort to ensure that all lawbreakers who have already been prosecuted face sentences equivalent to their level of violation, as well as guaranteeing that their trials are gone about in a prompt manner.
