Reflecting their stance on impeachment=Two representing progressive citizens’ unions for the General Election, Red Card 2004 and Mulgari, named after its mission to wipeout corruption out of the Assembly, have set their objectives: to interrupt any Assemblymen who voted for the impeachment from winning any seat in the Assembly again.

The civic group, Mulgari, is to present a list of congressmen to vote for and another to vote against. Mulgari has decided that they will exclude anyone who voted to approve the impeachment from the former list. Red Card 2004 plans to include them in the group of candidates to vote against at the election.

The policy manager, Lee, Tae-ho, of the People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy under the Civil Actions for General Election said, “we are to include all 193 members who voted for the impeachment in the list of candidates to vote against,” and added that they are “still under discussion on appropriate level of implementation of the principle because such action may be interpreted as a support for a certain party.

On the other hand, the Netizen’s Solidarity for Democratic Participation with more than 80 conservative groups supporting the impeachment is to take action against those candidates who called the impeachment a “coup d`etat of the Assembly.” Representative Shin Hye-sik of the Internet Independent Daily said, “We will publicly inform the people of the justness of approving the impeachment as well as taking action against those candidates opposing the impeachment.”
