Kim Mi-hyang (25years old) hit a hole-in-one and an eagle to take a surprise tie for first place at the first round of the Fourth Woori Securities Classic Womens Golf Tour held in Youngin-si Kyungki on October 15.
Unknown Kim Mi-hyang, who had never won since her professional debut in 1997, had two eagles and one birdie and finished the day tied for first place with a 2-under-par score along with Chun Mi-jung (TaylorMade), who is in second place in terms of the seasons prize money ranking.
Kim Mi-hyang made her fist official hole-in-one on the 14th hole (par 3, 153 yards) with a 7-iron tee shot. The ball fell in front of the pin and rolled into the cup. Then at the par-4, 15th hole (350yards), she shot a second shot with a 6-iron, and the ball sank into the cup, hitting in a spectacular eagle. She showed amazing concentration in her performance, with a 4-under par mark in these two holes.
Newly married Seo A-ram (Yonsei University doctorate student) is tied in third place with a 1-under par score. Kim Mi-hyun (KTF), LPGA player, is tied for seventh place with an even par score after a long absence of tour in Korea. Kim Ju-mi (Hi mart), Lee Jung-yun (Hankook Tire), Shin Hyun-joo, and Jang Jung all tied for seventh place. Lee Sun-hwa (CJ), who is first in terms of season prize money ranking with a 25,000 won difference over her closest competitor, took a joint 15th place spot.
