Turkey Submitted a Bill to the National Assembly Approving the Posting of U.S. Forces

On the 25th, the Turkey government submitted a bill to approvethe posting of the United States` armed forces and its warplanes at its domestic military base.

The New York Times and the Washington Post reported that Turkey submitted to its National Assembly a bill approving the posting of around 62,000 people of the United States military power, which are 20,000 more than originally expected along with 320 militaristic instruments in the domestic military bases in Turkey near the northern region of Iraq.

These two newspapers added that in the case of the United States` economical and militaristic supporting plan on Turkey reaching an agreement, this bill will be passed on the 26th and in preparation to this, the United States war vessel with the second infantry regiment military power and tanks is waiting in emergency on the coast of Turkey.

Hans Blicks, a chairperson of the UN investigation has clarified that Iraq is showing indications of active cooperation to the UN investigators with such actions of voluntarily displaying the information related to its WMD.

Chairman Blicks stated that there has been a substantial progress in the attitude of Iraq and added “Recently, Iraq has sent 6 letters containing information related to the WMD to the investigation group.”

Chairman Blicks explained that one of the letters is about a discovery of one R-400 bomb filled with liquid at the biological weapon waste disposal site and another letter is about a discovery of hand written documents on the disposal of prohibited weapons in 1991.

On the other side, President Saddam Hussein clarified during the recorded interview with the United States CBS Broadcasting Company, which will be broadcasted in the afternoon of 26th, that he “has no intention of fleeing to another country and desires to die in Iraq.” Also, he proposed having a personal discussion with George W. Bush, the President of the United States.

President Hussein also added that “Even when we get attacked by the United States, we will not destruct our own inheritances and dams.”
