Regarding the decision of the Ministry of Information and Communication`s decision to enforce the Number Mobility System and the 010 Number Unification System starting from January of next year, Nam Joong-Su, the president of KTF criticized by stating, “Allowing the SK Telecom to take over the Shinsegi Communications, is the biggest mistake of the `people`s government` who said will prevent the monopoly formation.”

Subsequently, he emphasized “The business who has been monopolizing the market with its self-effort and the business who has been monopolizing the market by the merger with other companies must be treated differently.” “After all, the competition between SK Telecom and KTF will be a competitive proxy war between the plutocrats and the professional management”, he asserted.

President Nam spoke the above at the first press conference after his KTF President inauguration and he stated that the enforcement of the 010 Number Unification System symbolizes the restoration of the natural competitive formation.

As a result, KTF will have the biggest disadvantage upon the introduction of the Number Mobility System but this must be enforced in order to legally weaken the monopolizing status of SK Telecom.

According to President Nam, the reason why KTF will have disadvantages is because there are a less percentage of subscribers who will move to KTF or LG from SK Telecom who is eligible to changed the users during the first 6 months of the introduction of the system but it is more probable that the subscribers of KTF can changed to LG which is the same Personal Communication Service.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged that “eventually, the 010 Number Unification System is a profitable system to KTF who is low in rate and advanced in the quality of calls” but also he stated that “the system must be enforced to prevent the solo advancement of SK Telecom!”
