16 North Korean Defectors Entered the German Embassy in Beijing

News sources in Germany said that 16 North Korean defectors entered the employees’ quarter of the German Embassy in Beijing at around 3pm (4pm in Korean local time) on the 3rd and requested a political exile to Korea or other countries.

The area that the defectors entered was little bit far from the German Embassy; however, according to the news sources, it was practically inside the Embassy because there was employees’ quarter there. There is a German school next to the employees’ quarter.

A German witness said some of them ran into the quarter but some could not make it.

An official of the German Embassy confirmed that he heard the news that defectors entered the building.
