Hong Myung-bo Notifies the Club “I Want to Go to LA Galaxy”

‘Everlasting Libero’ Hong Myung-bo (33, Pohang Steelers) notified officially the club that he wanted to transfer to LA Galaxy of US Major League Soccer (MLS).

The club announced that Hong Myung-bo visited Club office at 19th and expressed the intention to transfer to Galaxy interested in him after finish this season.

As Hong Myung-bo hoped to be soccer administrator, he planned to learn English after retiring active player. Therefore he expressed his intention several times to transfer to Galaxy because he can play soccer and learn English concurrently.

However, the club agreed with Hong Myung-bo for two years in the end of the last year with the conditions of guarantee him to send overseas for leaders’ training and a position in the club after his coming back. So the club holds fast its own views that he can’t transfer to other club until the end of the agreement.

Choi Sun-ho, the director of Pohang Steelers, says, “Hong Myung-bo is a symbol and main player of Pohang Steelers. So if LA Galaxy wants him, it should pay sufficiently for him.”
