Presidential candidate of the Millennium Democratic Party (MDP) Roh Moo-Hyun claimed in an interview with a weekly periodical on May 28, `A force siding with Lee Hoi-Chang regime of the Grand National Party (GNP) exists in the prosecution.` Roh`s remark re-ignited the issue of balance concerning the prosecution probe on political circle.
Candidate Roh spoke in an interview with `Newsmaker` published in the day, `Persons wrapped up in so-called elitism and special treatment prerogatives exist even in the prosecution.`
He said, `It`s true I have received campaign fund from Tiger Pools International, but I doubt there is some hidden intention in throwing out the beans,` and added, `GNP Rep. Yoon Yeo-Joon met a dozen times with CEO of Future City Environment Choi Kyu-Sun, but that does not investigated on while something happened once in a blue moon is being talked up, which makes me feel sorry.`
Countering Roh`s remarks, GNP spokesperson Nam Kyung-Pil criticized, `I do not know the reason why he, the successor of the DJ regime that damaged the prosecution by upstaging political prosecutors born in certain region, made such comment, or the appropriateness of the remarks,` and asked, `Is it an `anti-Roh` prosecution when the prosecution investigates fairly the power elite irregularities, and is it a `pro-prosecution` when the prosecution minimize and hide the cases as it has been done in the past political prosecution.`
