A research result that the chickens fed with transgenic corn died twice more than the ones with ordinary corn did was opened raising questions on the safety of transgenic crops.
From the edible safety test for `T-25` the gene manipulated corn grown in England, 10 chickens out of total 140 chickens fed with the gene manipulated corn died while 5 ones fed with ordinary corn died, says the research result.
This fact was disclosed when Dr. Rod Gray chairperson of British Environmental Release Advisory, which had approved the use of T-25 for cow feed, appeared at a program of BBC 4 Radio, and said, ”the safety test then should be analyzed again. ”
The advisory then gave an approval saying that the doubled number of died chickens is not meaningful in statistics. When the result of the test opened, British environmental bodies protested hard by cutting down the corns at a corn test farm.
