I feel the power as well as meaningless power observing Lee Soo-Dong scandal, former director of Kim Dae-Jung Peace foundation for the Asia-Pacific region.

The Chief Prosecutor at Seoul Public Prosecutor`s office called up Lee Soo-Dong earlier worriedly, saying, “ Don`t you have any concern? ”…

I can understand the situation why people try to form queue to approach the highest power.

It is unusual that secretary of the highest prosecution, who is called spokesman of the General in the prosecution, pointed out current senior prosecutor with regards to information links while revealing statement of Mr. Lee Soo-Dong partly.

He might have thought that maintaining security is difficult as Mr. Lee Soo-Dong said during his family`s visit, “I have no option but to disclose the prosecutor who told me about the information”.

The intention of the head of prosecution that is to press the protest of senior prosecutor might have operated.

By the way, if it is true that Senior prosecutor Kim Dae-Woong gave information regarding Lee Yong-Ho gate to former director Lee when he was the Chief Prosecutor at Seoul Public Prosecutor`s office, then it means providing opportunity for escaping or destroying evidence of the suspect.

If someone is in the position like Lee Soo-Dong, he could try to detect information earlier and get rid of it.

We can estimate, through phone record which Mr. Lee made to the then Chief Prosecutor at Seoul public prosecutor`s office several times before going to U.S.

He went to the U.S. and returned when he was convinced that he would not be involved.

Indeed, Mr. Lee Soo-dong part was forgotten in the investigation of the highest prosecution but was revealed in the investigation of Cha Jung-il, special investigative team.

Although we accept the excuse of senior prosecutor Kim at face value like, `I called him as I was worried only`, it is obviously contrary to ethics and rule of work as high-ranking official in the prosecution.

The problem of the prosecutor in politics who work as lawyer for the politics is not the matter of yesterday and today.

Investigation of this scandal would be a touchstone to measure independence of the prosecution from politics.

Senior prosecutor Kim should resign and cooperate to clarify the truth in this investigation.
