“Assessment Organization to Fully Mobilize Effort for Exposing Corruption”

Prime Minister Lee Han-Dong stated on the 1st, "We will fully mobilize the National Assessment Organization besides inaugurating the Corruption Prevention Committee to deal strongly with the corruption in society".

Prime Minister Lee stated through the `Administration Report 2002` at the opening ceremony of the special session in the National Assembly, "The government deeply acknowledges that corruption is the biggest obstacle that prevents national advancement and unity, and it will make a pan-governmental effort to eliminate corruption."

Prime Minister Lee stressed, "We will fight corruption in economic matters such as venture businesses, finances, concessions to public officials, and with each and every case of corruption in the leadership." He added, "All those connected to corruption will strictly be expelled without any special privileges."

He also expressed "We will insure substantiality in public education so that the burden of tuition for private education on parents can be reduced. We will formulate a `counter-measure for substantial public education` on the basis of collective investigation of the situation in public education in February."

The National Assembly posted a schedule which included speeches by representatives in the negotiation body on February 4 - 5, questions related to government on the 18th – 21st, activity of standing committee on 22nd – 26th, and plenary session of the National Assembly on 27th – 28th.
