Lee Hoi-Chang Accepted Leaders Meeting of Parties

Lee Hoi-Chang the president of the Grand National Party expressed his intension to accept the President Kim Dae-Jung`s proposal in the 8.15 celebration address for the leaders meeting. The New Millennium Democratic Party and Cheong Wa Dae welcomed his decision and proposed a working conference of leading figures to discuss agendas as soon as possible.

Since the President is planning to complete the reorganization of the party and Cheong Wa Dae by Sep. 10, the leaders meeting is expected to be held at the end of the next week.

Mr. Lee Hoi-Chang remarked at the general meeting of the congressperson that he ``will meet with social and political leaders including the former presidents to listen their valuable opinions and advices. I will meet anyone who can provide wisdom for hope to the people in such an chaotic situation.``

He also mentioned that ``the President must step forward to promote the integration of the nation, recovering the economy and accepting the problems of the North Korean policies and the press suppression. If so, the opposition party is willing to help him.``

Park Joon-Young, the spokesperson of Cheong Wa Dae, said that ``we welcome the president Lee`s decision to accept the President`s proposal for the leaders meeting. We are expecting the leaders meeting could be accomplished as soon as possible.`` He also emphasized that ``since the meeting is to be held in the midst of the national crisis, we hope that the two leaders exchange their frank opinions on the civil welfares and the national matters, providing a hope to the people.``
