The Grand National Party (GNP) opposed to pass the reform bill on the private school submitted to the National Assembly by the Millennium Democratic Party (MDP), while having decided to submit independently the reform bill in the regular session of the National Assembly. Chun Jae-Hee chairperson of the third policy committee said after a party’s education committee meeting that ``the MDP’s reform bill is asking for the massive educational disturbance like the medical disturbance by accepting only some of organizations’ opinions while omitting professional examinations and opinion hearings. This bill should not be rushed to pass.`` Chun also said that ``the MDP’s reform bill may create the social unrest by aggravating the confusion within the education circles through the invasion of the autonomy of the private schools. The bill should be withheld to be passed in the National Assembly until it becomes matured through the substantial hearings to become a bill with universal validity that can acquire people’s support.`` ``Our party will prepare a blueprint that can expose the corruption and absurdities, such as embezzlement of school funds, absurdities in the appointment of professors as well as teachers, and fraud admission, while guaranteeing the autonomy in the private school administration. Our party, if possible, plans to submit the reform bill in the regular session of the National Assembly this year,`` Chun added.
