Kim Woo-Sik, the president of Yonsei University, has repeatedly declared to pursue the new admission system through the contribution via the official letter to professors and staffs of the university.

President Kim told in the letter, that ``The admission system through contribution was mentioned for the first time in the interview with Donga Il-bo. And as the scrapped plan was made public by the Student Council, the system has generated the burning controversy. I regret that the system has created such a controversy. But I will gradually push for the admission system based on the contribution because it is inevitable for the school`s competitiveness.``

``The admission system for the contribution is necessary for the establishment of the sound contribution culture, but the school will pursue the system on a legal basis,`` Kim told. ``For the establishment of this system, the school will inform the inevitability of the system to the public opinion and the Ministry of Education.``

``The committee to work out the general plan for the new admission system was already established. And the committee for the evaluation of the contribution will be organized in the future, and it will deal with the detailed practical matters`` , President Kim added.

An official of Yonsei University told that ``it will be hard to pursue the system for a while, because the plan was divulged before the official announcement. The president`s letter can be seen as a process to gather the opinions about the system within Yonsei community.``

Meanwhile, the student council who has opposed to the admission system through the contribution, held an open forum on the admission system in front of the central library at one o`clock yesterday.
