Korea, China and Japan will form an organizing committee for an environmental campaign to jointly cope with environmental problems such as yellow dust. The envisioned panel will include lawmakers from the three countries and civilian experts.
The creation of the committee was agreed between eight Korean lawmakers and 15 Japanese assemblymen in a meeting held in the conference room at the Japanese Diet (lower house of representatives) in Tokyo on Monday, Rep. Kang Woon-Tae of the ruling Millennium Democratic Party said Tuesday.
The Korean and Japanese lawmakers will hold a meeting with their Chinese counterparts shortly to finalize the plan to create the three-nation panel. Each country will send around 30 members to the committee and they chose yellow dust as the top agenda item.
