One Vietnamese man was arrested on suspicions that he and four others formed an organized crime ring to rob foreign industrial trainees, thus becoming the first foreigner taken into custody on gang-related charges. The other suspects are still at large.

The Seoul Pukbu Police Station arrested 25-year-old Wen Gongli on charges of operating a criminal organization called the "Hanoi Group." According to the police, the five Vietnamese are suspected of breaking into the D villa in Chang-dong, Tobong-gu, Seoul at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, stabbing three Vietnamese industrial trainees and stealing 3 million won and five mobile phones. They are suspected of having snatched a total of 30 million won in cash and goods from industrial trainees in at least six separate incidents.
