President Kim Dae-Jung will visit the United States on March 6-11 and hold a summit with U.S. President George W. Bush on March 7, presidential spokesman Park Joon-Young announced Tuesday.
After his talks with Bush in Washington, Kim will meet with officials of the new U.S. administration, congressional leaders and academic figures. He will also deliver a speech to U.S. experts on Korean peninsula-related issues, the spokesman said.
President Kim will fly to Chicago on March 9, attend a reception held by local Korean residents and deliver a speech in a meeting with leading businessmen in the midwestern U.S. city. He will fly out of Chicago on March 10 and arrive in Seoul on the afternoon of March 11, Park said.
