Lawmaker¡¯s driver accused of assault

The Pangbae Police Station in Seoul requested an arrest warrant Wednesday for a driver, identified only as Lee, 32, working for a senior lawmaker of the Millennium Democratic Party (MDP), on the charge of threatening a policeman with violence after being taken to the police station while allegedly drunk and wrangling with a nearby customer at a singing room.

According to the police, Lee quarreled with a neighboring customer, identified as Kim, also 32, while singing with another driver, a 34-year-old Kim, working for another lawmaker of the MDP, at a singing room in Sadang-dong, Seoul, and waved his fist at the singing room manager, another Kim, 55.

After being taken to the Sadang 2 Police Box, Lee also was suspected of throwing his shoes at a 44-year-old police sergeant, identified as Lee, inflicting injury that will take two weeks to heal completely, while shouting: ¡°Do you know who I am? I will teach you a lesson.¡±
