Asia-Pacific anti-corruption international conference to begin Sunday

The Seoul Conference on Combating Corruption in the Asia-Pacific Region will be held at the Seoul COEX Convention Center starting on Dec. 10-13.

The meeting, organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Asia Development Bank (ADB), is expected to be attended by 250 representatives of government, civic groups and international agencies from 35 nations.

At the meeting, discussions will be held on anti-corruption strategies and plans for international cooperation.

A government official said the Korean government will propose that Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) set up an anti-corruption body aimed at fostering extradition treaties between nations.
