Ex-lawmaker investigated for bribery

The Seoul Public Prosecutors¡¯ Office announced that it was investigating allegations that former Rep. Kim Bum-Myung of the United Liberal Democrats had arranged through the Office of National Tax Administration an exemption for clothing manufacturer Narae¡¯s 5.1 billion won tax and had received 260 million won from the company in return.

Prosecutors are probing charges that Kim, when serving as a member of the Finance-Economy Committee, accepted 50 million won directly from Narae¡¯s chairman and received millions through his secretary¡¯s bank account, totaling 260 million won.
