Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) Chairman Kim Kak-Choong and Executive Deputy Chairman Sohn Byung-Doo called on Japanese firms to actively participate in inter-Korean economic cooperation July 19. The two FKI leaders, who are visiting Japan to attend the fifth Asian Neighbors Forum in Tokyo, met members of "Keidanren," the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations, and urged Japanese firms to assist in the development of North Korea`s infrastructure and the establishment of a Northeast Asian logistics network.
FKI Chairman Kim also suggested that Korea and Japan actively seek cooperation in a bid to encourage Japanese firms to play a role in inter-Korean economic cooperation.
The Asian Neighbors Forum is a biennial event in which business leaders from 12 Asian countries come together to discuss the future course of economic development and cooperation among Asian enterprises.
