Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew dies at the age of 74

Peter Mayhew, who is known for playing Chewbacca in the Star Wars series, died on April 30 (local time) at his house in Texas at the age of 74, according to CNN on Thursday. Mayhew, who stood over seven feet tall, was born in London, England, in 1944 and started his acting career in 1976. He acted as Chewbacca for seven times throughout 40 years, from his first appearance in the original Star Wars series in 1977 to his last in 2015’s “The Force Awakens.”
