Samsung Electronics unveiled “Galaxy A80,” the first smartphone from Samsung to have an embedded “rotating camera,” at the “A Galaxy Event” in Bangkok on Wednesday (local time).

The rotation technology enables the camera module on the top of the device to pop up and flip around to face the user when the selfie mode is activated. The A80 is equipped with a 48-megapixel camera, a 3D depth sensor, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, which can be used when taking selfies in high definition.

The Galaxy A80 features an “intelligent camera,” which recognizes and provides optimized hues for 30 types of subject contents such as face, scenery, and food, and the smartphone is also equipped with “super steady” video mode to minimize hand shake when recording a video.

The A80 offers the “Infinity Display,” Samsung’s full-screen display technology, and a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The A80 has a fingerprint sensor on the front based on the KNOX security platform with an 8GB RAM, a 128 GB internal storage, and a 3700mAh battery capacity. The Galaxy A80 will be available in three colors including Phantom Black, Angel Gold, and Ghost White, and the price has not been fixed.
