U.S. President Donald Trump has officialized the possibility of holding a second round of summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. It is indeed gaining attention on whether a second scene of negotiations over denuclearization, which had been facing a standstill, could be initiated in earnest if Kim meets not only South Korean President Moon Jae-in in September but also Chinese President Xi Jinping and the U.S. president consecutively.

“It’s most likely we will," Trump said at an interview with Reuters on Monday (local time) at White House, when asked whether an additional summit with Kim Jong Un would be held. “I like him. He likes me. I have very good personal relations with Chairman Kim."

With respect to the specific period or venue of the summit, President Trump did not elaborate much, saying, “I just don’t want to comment.” It is, however, most likely that the second North Korea-U.S. summit will be held in October given that he will be participating the annual United Nations General Assembly gathering in September and the midterm elections will be held on Nov. 6.
