U.S. President Donald Trump's current wife and ex-wife publicly exchanged scorching statements over who is the first lady. Some criticized that "situations that may happen in reality shows are actually happening in the White House."

It all started when Donald Trump's first wife, Ivana Trump, jokingly called herself the first lady in the ABC News to promote her memoir “Raising Trump,” which is set to be released Tuesday. She said during an interview that she has a direct number to the White House but was reluctant to call the president "because Melania is there, and I don't want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that. Because I’m basically first Trump wife, okay? I’m first lady, okay?” Ivana Trump also said, "I think for her (Melania) to be in Washington must be terrible. It's better her than me. I would hate Washington."

Melania Trump, President Trump's third wife and the current first lady, fired back, slamming Ivana Trump's insulting comments. "She (Melania Trump) loves living in Washington, D.C. and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States," said Stephani Grisham, the first lady's spokeswoman. "There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving nose."
