Seoul National University College of Engineering said on Monday Prof. Lee Jae-wook (43) at the computer science and engineering department has been named the winner of the ‘award for most frequently cited research paper for 10 years at a ‘very-large-scale integration (VLSI) symposium hosted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in the U.S. The paper, entitled “A Technique to Build a Secret Key in Integrated Circuits for Identification and Authentication Applications" he published in June 2004, addresses the technology designed to create a secret key that is impossible to copy in order to enhance computer security. The paper has been cited more than 1,000 times so far, and recorded as the most frequently cited paper among more than 9,000 papers that were publicized for 10 years from 2000. The award ceremony will take place at an event marking the 30th anniversary of the VLSI symposium in Kyoto, Japan on Tuesday.
