Young researchers at Hyundai Motor will drive at the 24-hour endurance race held in Germany test the driving performance of its high-performance brand “N.”

On Wednesday, Hyundai Motor announced that its four Namyang Research Institute researchers in their early 30s will participate in the “Nurburgring 24-hour Endurance Race” held in Germany from May 27 to 28. The race aims to test the level of endurance and driving performance on Hyundai Motor’s high-performance vehicle “N” at even the harshest instances.

The race will be won by the vehicle recording the longest driving distance for 24 hours. The Nurburgring circuit is also called “The Green Hell” for its rigorous driving environment, including the narrow roads, uneven levels, and hidden sharp curves. A Hyundai official explained, “We thought it was vital for researchers to get a hands-on experience in driving at the most severe environment when developing a vehicle. They have built up physical strengths for the past seven months, trained on circuits, and are all qualified to enter the race.”
