LG’s ‘V50 ThinQ’ to hit Korean market on Friday

LG Electronics has decided to introduce in the Korean market its 5G smartphone “LG V50 ThinQ,” which provisionally postponed market launch. The South Korean electronics giant will start selling the LG V50 on Friday, through independent supply channels including Open Market, and LG Best Ship, as well as Korea’s Big Three mobile carriers. LG will also take preorders for the product, which has been priced at 1,199,000 won (1,020 U.S. dollars), on Wednesday and Thursday. Buyers who buy the smartphone through preorders will get their broken display panels replaced free of charge once for a period of one year after purchase.

Mobile carrier LG U+ disclosed the amounts of its official subsidies for the LG V50 ThinQ on Thursday. Buyers who subscribe to the 5G Premium (95,000 won or 81 U.S. dollars), a policy offering unlimited data volume, and to the 5G Special (85,000 won or 72.5 dollars) are entitled to 570,000 won (48.6 dollars), and 510,000 won (435 dollars) in subsidies, respectively. Those who subscribe to the 5G Standard (75,000 won or 64 dollars) and the 5G Light (55,000 won or 43.5 dollars) can receive 450,000 won (384 dollars) and 330,000 won (281 dollars) in subsidies, respectively. When including an extra subsidy (up to 15 percent) offered by a phone shop, a subscriber to the 5G Premium can buy the V50 for only 543,500 won (46 dollars).
